Environmental Analysis

Our laboratories for environmental analysis combine swift and competent consulting with the complete range of modern environmental analysis.

GBA's spectrum of consulting and services is adapted to each individual situation in the different metropolitan regions. In addition to "classic" environmental analysis, the routine operations of the GBA laboratories also integrate testing of PCDD/F, brominated flame retardants, active pharmaceutical ingredients in medicinal products, pesticides, fluorosurfactants, priority substances according to European Water Framework Directive, and organotin compounds in various matrices, for example, soil, water, sediment, and biota. We hold ourselves responsible for continually updating and expanding this field of work.

One of GBA’s additional services is the support and management of industrial in-house laboratories.

The division for environmental analysis can analyze the following kind of samples for you:

  • Water analysis: drinking water, waste water, seep water, groundwater, surface water, process water, untreated water, private wells, as well as the evaluation of bathwater and/or swimming pool water according to DIN 19643:2012-11.
  • Analysis of soil, sediment, and rubble: in the context of areas suspected of inherited waste, ground management, surveying building sites, chain of effects in the context of the federal soil protection act (BBodSchV), sediment from surface waters.
  • Analysis of waste and recyclables: used oil, wood waste, sewage and other sludge, sediment, dust, electronic waste.
  • Compost analysis: finished compost, fermenting products
  • Fuel analysis: refuse-derived fuel (RDF) / solid recovered fuel (SRF), biofuels
  • Analysis of mineral oil products: insulating oil, used oil
  • Gas and air analysis: soil air, landfill gas, exhaust, crude gas, gas products, biogas, ambient air.
  • Biota: residue analyses of organic and inorganic contaminants in plant or animal tissue.

Our technical equipment and staff expertise enables comprehensive, high-quality processing of your samples as well as on-time delivery. These services are provided in accordance to DIN EN ISO/ICE 17025:2008 (DAkkS Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH).

Visit from the VDIni-Club in Mönchengladbach

On May 18th, 2019, the kids club of the VDI (Association of German Engineers) visited our lab in Mönchengladbach, biomess. The group of 18 children ages 6 and up, got to experience an exciting day in the laboratory with the theme of “magnification.” They were allowed to pick one of a variety of samples (e.g. salt, sugar, paper, insects) and observe it under a stereo microscope.
